PORT OF ALBANY TOUR – MORE INFO:

Since 1932, the Albany Port District Commission has been an economic driver that has connected Upstate New York and the Northeast U.S. to international commerce via maritime channels and logistics services. Primary operation is a marine terminal that services multiple commodities including wheat, grain, paper pulp, steel, wind, power, and other special project cargo. The Port hosts two dozen tenants, ranging from agricultural to recycling operations to construction services that serve a vast network of local, regional, statewide, national, and international customers.

In addition, the Port is developing the first U.S. offshore wind supply chain manufacturing facility which is currently the largest fully permitted port-site for offshore wind supply chain manufacturing in the Northeast. Despite increased project costs, the Port of Albany Expansion Project continues to move forward in a phased-approach to pad-ready status, which includes massive earthwork (including infrastructure, utility, substation, and roadway work) and construction of a heavy-capacity bridge.

For more information/any questions on the tour,  contact Port of Albany Director of External Affairs Penny Vavura at 518-463-8763 or pvavura@portofalbany.us.

The Port of Albany is a deep water year round international port of entry located 124 nautical miles north of the New York harbor.  The Port of Albany’s overall economic impact on New York State is more than $813 million.
